For this project, I had to make a collection of illustration stamps for the United Kingdom. When I researched the United Kingdom, I fell in love with their history of kings and queens during the medieval century, and I wanted to bring that back. The first stamp illustrates a knight with a shield and sword in the midst of battle. The silver and bronze show his statue in his armor and his weapons. The second illustration is of a king having his crown as the centerpiece, being the clearest and most tamed representation of how statues and wealth bring power and control. Finally, the third piece is the queen. This is represented by the Royal solid gold cup with red smudged lipstick and royal blue nails. I did the most recent search for the queen and then for the rest of the groups because I wanted to represent her beauty, elegance, and grace without overshadowing her king. The original idea was to create a golden corset that would cinch her waist and elevate her bosom, but I concluded that it would’ve overly sexualized her, ruining her elegance.
